چکیده

Prediction is emerging as an essential ingredient for real-time monitoring, planning and decision support applications such as intrusion detection, e-commerce pricing and automated resource management. This paper presents a system that efficiently supports continuous prediction queries (CPQs) over streaming data using seamlessly-integrated probabilistic models. Specifically, we describe how to execute and optimize CPQs using discrete (Dynamic) Bayesian Networks as the underlying predictive model. Our primary contribution is a novel cost-based optimization framework that employs materialization, sharing, and model-specific optimization techniques to enable highly-efficient pointand range-based CPQ execution. Furthermore, we support efficient execution of top-k and threshold-based high probability queries. We characterize the behavior of our system and demonstrate significant performance gains using a prototype implementation operating on realworld network intrusion data and deployed as part of a real-time software-performance monitoring system.

Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML

As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

Geospatial Stream Query Processing using Microsoft SQL Server StreamInsight

Microsoft SQL Server spatial libraries contain several components that handle geometrical and geographical data types. With advances in geo-sensing technologies, there has been an increasing demand for geospatial streaming applications. Microsoft SQL Server StreamInsight (StreamInsight, for brevity) is a platform for developing and deploying streaming applications that run continuous queries ov...

A Relational Algebra for Streaming Tables Living in a Temporal Database World

The recently introduced streaming table concept, a fully native representation of streaming data inside a DBMS, enabled modern data-intensive applications with one-time queries (OTQs) and continuous queries (CQs) capabilities on both streaming and standard relational tables. In this paper, we fully acknowledge the temporal nature of streaming tables and we propose to go one step further and int...

Letter from the Editor - in - Chief The Data Engineering Conference ICDE

In this paper, we overview the PLACE server (Pervasive Location-Aware Computing Environments); a scalable location-aware database server developed at Purdue University. The PLACE server extends data streaming management systems to support location-aware environments. Location-aware environments are characterized by the large number of continuous spatio-temporal queries and the infinite nature o...
